Andalucía weather forecast March 20-24: Stormy days ahead with heavy rain and strong winds
Storm Martinho to bring widespread rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds across the region

Thursday March 20

Andalucia weather forecast, Thursday March 20
Storm Martinho will make itself felt across Andalucía, with widespread rain moving from west to east throughout the day. The heaviest and most persistent downpours are expected in western provinces such as Huelva, Cádiz and Seville, where thunderstorms could also develop. Further east, areas like Almería and Granada may see only light showers, but these could carry Saharan dust, leading to muddy rain by evening. Winds will be strong, particularly along the coast and in higher-altitude areas, with powerful gusts likely. Temperatures will be on the rise overnight, but daytime highs will drop in the west while climbing slightly in the east.
Friday March 21

Andalucia weather forecast, Friday March 21
The stormy weather continues, though rain will become more sporadic as the day progresses. Showers are still likely in most areas, particularly in western and central Andalucía, while the eastern provinces, including Almería and Jaén, could remain mostly dry in the afternoon. Muddy rain may persist in the far east early in the morning. Snow levels will be around 1,500 metres, rising to 1,900 metres later in the day. Winds will strengthen along the coast, particularly in Málaga and Almería, where very strong gusts are possible. Temperatures will drop significantly, especially in the interior, bringing a noticeably colder feel.
Saturday March 22

Andalucia weather forecast, Saturday March 22
Another unsettled day is in store, with cloudy skies and frequent showers. Thunderstorms remain possible, particularly in coastal areas such as Cádiz, Málaga, and Motril. The easternmost provinces may see drier conditions for much of the day. Snow levels will drop to 1,600 metres by nightfall, affecting higher-altitude areas of Granada and Jaén. Temperatures will continue to fall, though coastal areas will remain slightly milder. Winds will be brisk from the southwest, increasing in strength along the Mediterranean coastline.
Sunday March 23

Andalucia weather forecast, Sunday March 23
The coldest day of the forecast period, with snow levels falling to between 1,000 and 1,200 metres, bringing a wintry feel to the Sierra Nevada and other high-altitude areas. Heavy showers will continue across much of the region, with the potential for thunderstorms. Temperatures will dip further, and inland areas, particularly in Granada and Jaén, may experience overnight frosts. Strong winds will persist, especially along the Mediterranean coast, where gusts could be very powerful in exposed areas.
Overall, Andalucía faces a stormy and unsettled few days, with a mix of heavy rain, strong winds, and falling temperatures. Those in western areas should be particularly prepared for intense downpours and possible thunderstorms, while snow could become a factor in the higher elevations later in the weekend.
