From weather warnings to spring temperatures: Alicante weather forecast December 4-8

The mercury will hit 23ºC in large parts of Alicante province this December bank holiday weekend

The December bank holiday is almost upon us and a lot of people will be hoping to taking advantage of the long weekend to start their Christmas preparations. But if the weather forecast hold true, you may want to change your plans and head to the beach instead!

Before you shrug off the winter woollies in favour of your bathing suit, Aemet is warning of another couple of chilly, overcast and potentially damp days to come before the temperatures shoot up.

Thursday December 4

Cloudy skies are forecast with a chance of light rain in the morning. Temperatures will remain the same for now and a strong westerly wind has prompted Aemet to activate a yellow alert for gusts in inland Alicante.

Friday December 5

Friday should be brighter but still partly cloudy. The westerly gusts will persist but the weather warnings have been lifted. Daytime temperatures will start to climb, hitting 20ºC in the south of the province.

Saturday December 6

After a slightly cloudy early morning, Saturday will clear to a bright, sunny day with only a smattering of high clouds. There’s a chance of light rain in the northern interior of the province during the first half of the day but elsewhere temperatures will shoot up, reaching highs of 24ºC in many parts.

Sunday December 7

Sunday will return to partly cloudy with possible mist and fog patches in inland Valencia and Alicante in the morning. Night-time temperatures will start to fall with little change expected at the height of the day.

Monday December 8

Some overnight showers in northern Alicante should clear by early morning on Bank holiday Monday and for most of the province, a bright, sunny day is forecast. Temperatures will rise from around 11 °C early in the morning to a high of about 20 °C in the afternoon.

Friday December 5: Min 8ºC; Max 20ºC
Saturday December 6: Min 10ºC; Max 24ºC
Sunday December 7: Min 9ºC; Max 23ºC
Monday December 8: Min 7ºC; Max 20ºC
