German woman and her dog missing from Malaga found safe in another province

Martina Renate and her dog, Ellie, have been located after days of searching

After a widespread search and growing concern from the community, missing German woman Martina Renate and her beloved dog, Ellie, have happily been found safe and well in another province. The 61-year-old, who works as a home help, went missing from Marbella earlier this month, leading to an urgent appeal from friends, family, and the authorities.

Martina was last seen on Friday March 14 after visiting one of her regular clients in Elviria, a neighbourhood in Marbella. She had her dog Ellie with her and was heading out to run errands. However, after her phone went silent around 3pm that day, she was not heard from again, prompting fears for her safety.

Concerned for her wellbeing, Nathalie Fantuzzi, the daughter of the last client to see Martina, sounded the alarm. A social media call for help quickly took off, catching the attention of the international media. The police launched an investigation and reviewed CCTV footage, which showed Martina and Ellie in various locations over the following days.

On Sunday March 23, Martina’s flatmate was informed by police that she had been found alive and well, along with Ellie. Authorities did not reveal her exact location but confirmed that she is safe and happily residing outside the Costa del Sol.

The news comes as a relief to those who had been following the search and hoping for her safe return. While the reasons behind her disappearance remain unclear, the most important thing is that she and Ellie are both doing fine. Friends and supporters who rallied around during the search can finally breathe easy now that Martina is safe and starting fresh in a new place.
