Missing Brit Jason Taylor found alive after vanishing at Alicante Airport
His wife says she has 'no idea' why he left the airport on his own

The 36-year-old Welsh engineer was due to fly back to Birmingham on Saturday morning after a stag do in Benidorm. However, after experiencing difficulties with his boarding pass, he unexpectedly left the airport building and vanished without a trace. His disappearance sparked a desperate search, with family members flying out to Spain to help look for him.
On Tuesday April 1 in the afternoon, Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that Jason had been found, with a family member also posting on Facebook: "Thank you all for sharing and caring."
Gaz Edmunds, one of Jason’s eight friends on the trip, explained how events unfolded at the airport. The group arrived at 8.30am for their 10.30am flight, but Jason had lost his phone and needed a friend to access his boarding pass. When they tried to scan it, an error message appeared, so he went to find help.
“One member of the group waited behind the gate for him to return, but that was the last we saw or heard from him,” Gaz said.
CCTV footage showed Jason queuing at the help desk, seemingly to sort out the boarding pass issue. However, after just a few minutes, he abruptly left the queue and walked out of the airport at around 9am.
His wife Maria, 34, admitted she was baffled by his decision to leave. “I have no idea why he left the airport,” she said. “I think he’s gone for a walk to clear his head and he’s got lost.”
Gaz and the rest of Jason’s friends were deeply concerned, especially as he was without his phone. “It’s very unlike Jason,” he said. “He wasn’t ill or drunk or incapable.”
After days of uncertainty, Jason was finally located on Tuesday. His brother-in-law confirmed the news to Spanish Eye, simply saying: “Yes, it’s true.” When asked if Jason was okay, he added: “We’re not sure yet, all I know is that he’s been found.”
Dyfed-Powys Police later released a statement: “Jason, who was reported missing in Spain, has been found and is with his family. Thank you to everyone who shared the appeal.”
