More rain and storms on the way: Murcia weekly weather forecast March 2-5
Just when you thought we were done with the wet weather, March comes in like a lion

Murcia weather warnings, Tuesday March 3
The yellow warnings for strong wind are back for the Region of Murcia as the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts more inclement weather this week: fast gusts of wind, cloudy skies, rainstorms, and thunder and lightning. What a way to kick off March!
Monday March 2
Murcia weather forecast, Monday March 2Monday will be pretty overcast all day long, and occasionally foggy in patches, while there is a yellow weather warning in place for winds of up to 50-60kmh on the coastline of Cartagena and La Manga del Mar Menor starting from 3pm and lasting for the rest of the day.
But all that is just a taster for the real deal, which begins with the start of the rains towards midnight on Monday.
Tuesday March 3
Murcia weather forecast, Tuesday March 3It will rain all night, bringing a drizzly start to Tuesday, though it will clear up in areas closer to the coast and the sun will pop out for a bit on Tuesday. At the same time, Aemet has issued more yellow alerts for high winds in coastal Murcia and the far northeast of the Region, around Yecla and Jumilla, lasting pretty much all day long.
Wednesday March 4
Murcia weather forecast, Wednesday March 4Tuesday night will be dry, but from around 6am on Wednesday, the rain will begin to arrive in earnest from the northwest, sweeping down into Murcia from the rest of mainland Spain. By midday, the entire Region is forecast to be covered in heavy rainclouds, with electrical storms expected for basically the entire western half of the Region.
Through all this, temperatures will fluctuate slightly, but actually not drop too significantly, with maximums of 18-22ºC throughout the week, though it will likely feel colder than this due to the rain and wind.
Thursday March 5
Murcia weather forecast, Thursday March 5From Wednesday and all through the night into Thursday, the rain will continue to fill up those Murcia reservoirs ready to provide plenty of water to see us through the summer without hosepipe bans. By Thursday afternoon, the thunderstorms are back, too, though it will ease off towards the evening, and the wind will not be as strong on Thursday as on the preceding days.
While the rain comes and goes, for now it looks like, for the most part, Friday and the weekend beyond it will see more rain, but with windspeeds not quite so high, although that forecast could easily change between now and then.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Murcia this week
- Monday March 2: Min 4ºC; Max 18ºC
- Tuesday March 3: Min 7ºC; Max 22ºC
- Wednesday March 4: Min 8ºC; Max 20ºC
- Thursday March 5: Min 6ºC; Max 18ºC
